Spring has sprung

Formal. But casual.

Some days feel like a rebirth of sorts. Some weeks are bullies pushing their sunshine way into my heart and soul. This happens to be one of those weeks. Patience finds itself at the end of a road, motivation runs at an all-time high. I have things I want to do and I’m going to start doing them now.

Spring has sprung

I’ve been coming home these past few weeks to a sun-filled living room, spring bursting through the windows without permission. I picked up a magazine tonight while grocery shopping. I sat on my bed and read for twenty minutes. For the first time in months I didn’t feel like I was running behind.

I still aspire to read for hours and hours, flipping switches and turning on lights while the light changes around me. But you know what? I’ll take those twenty minutes, I’ll laugh at the silly antics occurring in my household and it will feel really, really good. Spring is finally here in my world. How do you like that hot pink lip gloss from Joe Fresh? Spring landed right here on my face!

How is spring treating you? Do you find yourself emerging? Do you find yourself recharged? I’m dedicating this post to Bella of The Citizen Rosebud. We have had very different objectives for our Northern California weather. I want storm after storm, it means snowboarding.

Bella, this sunshine is for you, honey.

I absolutely LOVE the way you have styled this tie to be an obi belt. And thanks for posting the link! I have been trying to do this for ages but have been totally clueless as to how!

Love your burgundy color cardi and how you wear it with a prettty shirt and your obi-belt (delightful!)
And love your new shoes (I would like a pair like that!).
You’re pretty in your casual-elegant outfit!

loving the belt and how you have tied it. Obi styled belts are really key for spring summer as well. I have to say I think I’m with Bella on this I’ll take the sunshine anyday.

Fortunately, in the SF/Bay Area, we get plenty of sunshine. The weather is just starting to warm up, too. I’m enjoying the everything being in bloom:) Your tattoo post inspired me to touch on the topic. I’ll let you know when I do.

Oh Fabu, I love you! You really touched me- what a wonderful post- and so many great phrases in here (you KNOW I love great writing) as well as sentiments.

“Some weeks are bullies pushing their sunshine way into my heart”

“spring bursting through the windows without permission.”

“Spring is finally here in my world. How do you like that hot pink lip gloss from Joe Fresh? Spring landed right here on my face!”

This post warms my bones, it is much needed spiritual sunshine, and good good good! I will now go outside and bask in our shared No-Cal sunny day.

Mad love at you, Fabu! xo. Bella Q

Sweetheart, what a lovely post! I feel all fuzzy inside reading it and looking at your lovely pictures. I was walking around today, feeling so grateful that the cold weather is giving way to dry pavement :) But then again, I am a city girl and a rubbish skier. However, I hope you have some mountain close to you where you can go snowboarding! I know it must be fun, I have just never gotten past the kids slope and apologizing to parents of children I have knocked over. Oh dear. I digress. The point is that I wanted to come over here and give you big hugs!!!! And a smoooch: mwuuuaaaah!

Thanks, Paris! It was pretty easy to make. With a sewing machine, maybe 15-20 minutes? It’s fun looking at all the ties in the thrift stores, too, to see what combination would work. Have fun!

What a lovely post! The way you put it together, your outfit and writing are both so charming. I don’t snowboard – in fact, my favorite winter sport is reading by the fire. Yet it’s still my favorite season (it used to be autumn but it doesn’t seem to exist for more than a week anymore). I’m ready for spring just because I’m starting to forget what green grass looks like. I’ve been staring at bare trees for far too long!

I’m absolutely loving the belt and cardi. You look gorgeous!

Thank you for sharing why it’s your favorite season. Reading by the fire is one awesome winter “sport”! :)
