Not your average red, white and blue

Daily outfit and style tip, wearing aqua cardigan, white t-shirt, red pants

There are days when a nice tomato red looks so right with a crisp white t-shirt, especially when that t-shirt’s burnout lets the brightest cyan tank top peek through. I love this particular take on the patriotic combo because the colors are just slightly left of center; the blue is a really rich aqua, the tomato red has an orange hue. To top it off, the white is quite transparent.

I’m doing my best to summon the sunshine with these bright colors, you can see the thin misty fog in the background. It did eventually burn off by mid-day. It is still summer after all.

{ style tip: }

I like to experiment with accessorizing. Instead of wearing a necklace I wrapped a kerchief around my neck for prosperity, I’ve had it for at least ten years. It reminds me of being in Provence. I was happily wearing red pants even back in 2001. I love wearing good memories.

Do you ever find yourself wearing an item that reminds you of something wonderful? Do share, I really enjoy reading your comments and getting to know my readers better.

    Oh, I love your color combination here! The aqua and tomato red look made-for-each-other. Why have I never thought to pair the two?!

    I can’t seem to think of any items that call to mind memories or remind me of specifically wonderful things. Well, except for one coverall that I didn’t know was a coverall, I wear it more as a kimono, and it reminded me of Anika from the very first. That always puts a smile on my face!

    Great color combination!
    Love your 2001 photo and how you still have the same kerchief.

    I think that it’s great to experiment and love a nice kerchief once in a while. I keep a “just-in-case” kerchief in my handbag actually.

    Those red pants? = fantastic! I fancy burnout Tees, absolutely love them, especially with colourful tanks underneath. You look great & adoring the crisp photos.

    I love aqua and tomato red and love that you layed sheer white over another color instead of over white. I always think you have to layer sheer over like colors, but I’m going to have to try this.

    Somewhere recently I read that Valentino managed to achieve such fantastic reds because every 5th thread in his fabrics was orange. I like this slightly off red,white & blue. And, yeah, for the kerchiefs. I wore my hair like that daily in my college days, but seldom see it in the blogosphere.

    Love those pants (wore my red pants today!). Your hair is so lovely, too!
