Daily outfit and style tips, wearing green and white dress, ochre elastic belt, gold tights, platform sandals

This is the blogging equivalent of dine-and-dash, it’s more like blog-and-dash. It’s been a busy week since our return. While most of my life is back to normal, I’m still struggling to get all the loose ends tied, blogging and regular exercise being the two primary things of importance that are crying out for my attention.

It was Fil’s birthday yesterday.

I’m using that as my excuse this week. We had a lovely dinner at his favorite restaurant in San Francisco, Prospect, followed by a cocktail at Bourbon and Branch. Then we called it a night, it was only Tuesday after all.

Daily outfit and style tip, wearing short black dress, black tights, black boots

I went from demure to 80′s rocker chick for the occasion. I couldn’t help but pose next to the first layer of new curtains I put up right in front of the wall I painted last weekend. Nesting ahoy! Also, it was raining outside. Not just drizzling or misting, pouring rain!

See you later!

Happy Anniversary, F2!

Daily outfit and style tip, wearing tiered lace and satin skirt with seafoam green top
Looking forward to a lovely dinner
Daily outfit and style tip, wearing tiered lace and satin skirt with seafoam green top

F2 is my husband and I, both our names start with the letter “F”. Sunday was our seven year anniversary. There was some quality relaxation going on followed by a lovely dinner at Plum.

I had him quickly snap this photo of me before heading out. He always makes me laugh!

{ style tip: }

I chose to wear opaque tights with my lacy, frilly skirt instead of more lace. The opaque nature of the darker tights elongated my legs and drew the attention upwards, towards the skirt and top, allowing those pieces to stand out and shine.

{ full time fabulous blog event: }

This is my first Full Time Fabulous blog event. The theme is to create a visual representation of how our location in the world influences us. As a citizen of the world, I chose to express myself solely through pictures I’ve taken over the past couple of years. I wanted to create a story without words and deliberately left it open to interpretation. For more information, check out Kristy Eléna’s blog.

Daily outfit and style tip, wearing Pantone's color of the year, honeysuckle, with jeans
Honeysuckle and cedar, from Pantone’s colors of the year palette

I realized this morning that I have become so accustomed to wearing dresses everyday that pants, especially jeans, have become a novelty. I’ve had this blouse for a few months and was itching to wear it.

{ style tip: }

Wearing denim to work requires some attention to detail so as not to appear unprofessional, even in a casual atmosphere. A soft blouse is comfortable but still looks polished. Dressier shoes with a low or medium heel in a similar color palette add an unpredictable touch.

How do you wear your denim to work? Do you choose fun tops and funky flats, or do you dress them up with a structured shirt, heels and a blazer? Or do you pick something in between?
